Upon a rocky cliff
I peer down to another world below
My legs try to shuffle back
But it would only mean further to go
"You will need these", a voice calls
Two suitcases loaded, one for each arm
I shudder with the extra weight
I could run and escape
But the cliff would always remain
It is time
I let myself step into the air
wait for the crash
But only softness remains
Two parachutes have emerged from the cases
I am going to be ok
: ) aaaah that's nice! Now you make me wonder... sounds like you have stepped outside the comfort zone... and seems the decision was right! : )
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes. I have been taking the hard road lately, and although I experience intense fear, somehow I make the leap. All of you are helping me though!
DeleteI love the line "I could run and escape, but the cliff would always remain...". To me, that's a message of facing and overcoming your fears, problems, or obstacles. Beautiful poem my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks as always Keith. No matter how fantastic our lives, there are always obstacles in our way.
Deletethat was a great entry...ive found myself peering down that cliff many times...may as well jump

I am starting to think I should not be jumping alone. If I could meet people (like all you cool bloggers) who are prepared to jump with me then it turns into a recreational fun time rather than the scariness I perceive it to be.
DeleteFor me, I've found three parachutes that help me when I need to take the plunge: faith, hope and love(which includes gratitude).
ReplyDeleteThree parachutes! I like it. You can jump with me anytime Pablo.
