Close calls

Sometimes our mind may spiral into a place of fear and pain.  Once we feel ourselves falling we believe we may hit bottom but you can always pull the chute. You may simply need to turn on an entertaining tv show and let the fears dissolve back into the background.  You may phone a friend to go for a quick coffee to set your mind straight again.  You may simply need a nap.  Record what works for you so that if the darkness ever attempts to creep in you will be standing guard and ready for a fight.

  1. Yes yes yes. My ways of coping are praying, music, and exercise! Nothing to get your mind away from fear and darkness like flying down the road on your bike!

    1. Genious ideas!! I usually do a prayer right before bed, but why not during the day if I am in a tough spot. Awesome.

  2. I'm in agreement with Small Player. Cycling relieves stress wonderfully.

Vanessa, I'm in agreement with you: applying healthy alternatives to crippling emotions is a great way to combat dark moments in our soul.

    Wishing you a terrific week!

    1. As soon as all this snow melts I will take my cruiser out on the gritty streets and cycle myself happy. Your peddling style inspires me Pablo

  3. Exercise really really helps me. It's a great escape - I escape into the music on my exercise mix :)

  4. I am trying so hard to work on this one. I find fresh air and being outside is the best for me. Our natural environment helps me to release my stress and anxiety and fills me up with so much positivity and freshness! Hot baths, tea and sleep are my alternatives when all else fails.
