Dance with the past

Unlike many of other Mother Nature's animals, we have evolved to create time for ourselves in which to contemplate the past and think about our future. In meditation we often try to focus in on the present, but as a change of pace, try meditating on the past.  Take an old record or CD that you used to play on repeat in your younger years.  Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes.  Let the music take you on a journey to your past.  What do you see?  What are the smells that tickle your nose?  What are the feelings associated with the music?

I would love to hear how it goes!

  1. You probably know I've commented on a few of your earlier posts.

Doing this exercise, If felt joy, I smiled and I dwelt on the treasured moments during the time this music was popular.

In my mind's eye, I saw my friends, gathered together with me.

    No smells, however. Darn.

  2. Wow! So happy that you tried it out Pablo! Some of us are more feeling or auditory rather than recalling odours - that is a special trick. So glad you enjoy being part of my world. I always look forward to your comments friend.
