A kiss from nature

Watching bumblebees can be a soothing activity. The flower opens itself to welcome the bee's dance in its petals, and just by being itself, the bee gives a gift to the flower by pollinating it.  The bee does not attack the flower for its pollen, nor does the flower hide from the bee's presence.  They care for one another in an intimate way.  We can honour one another by giving what we can and by taking only what we need.  Perhaps the gift is advice, a compliment, a hug.  Perhaps we take advice, a compliment, a hug. Nature displays this balance so well. Let us learn from her.

  1. Your comments remind me of a passage: "Speak to the Earth and it will teach thee." I agree with you, there's many lessons we can learn from nature.

For me, one important lesson from nature is knowing stillness while being filled with serenity, a deep, quiet joy. Nature, often in it's most beautiful form, is simply there. He doesn't have to do anything.

Urban living can easily give rise to a hectic lifestyle. There's much to be said about resting, being still and experiencing or expressing God's loving presence, just like nature, be it a desert sunset or a cool autumnal moment in the forest. (Ps. 46:10)

Nature does not have to produce, to be worthwhile. Nor do I.

Thank you for this post. I miss Keith. Too bad he no longer has internet access at home.

  2. I think I am going to venture out and experience nature in my garden. Weed pulling- but still. It gives me pause to recognize the resilience of the many plants that call my yard home. I also miss Keith, his presence would be such a blessing. Stay amazing Pablo.
