Let it sink in

What was the last compliment you heard?  Perhaps someone noticed your new shirt or your input at work was acknowledged.  Recall this compliment once again and let it truly sink in and take root. Repeat the words several times to yourself.  We all too often hear a compliment but then rarely do we listen to the sweet words and take them fully inside.  We quickly say "thanks" on an exhale, without remembering to fully inhale the kind message being gifted our way. You deserve that compliment.  Accept it in a way that matters.  Embrace it.

  1. Wow. You're back!

Someone recently told me I was wise. It's humbling hearing that. I struggle with being told this; it's difficult inhaling this message.

I resist this compliment because I'd rather be known for being kind and loving.

Being appreciated for my thoughts makes me feel as if I'm "interesting." I care more about connecting at the heart level with others, than stimulating another person's thoughts. Mind connections while interesting, don't warm me or others; connections from the heart, do.

Because of your post I'll take in the compliment, receiving it for the gift it is. I'm in agreement with you: when someone affirms, it is a courtesy and acknowledgement not to be overlooked. I will choose to accept the kindness buried within their statement. I'll accept it as a kiss from God, a loving encouragement from Him.

Thank you for your prompting. Now, what was a recent compliment YOU received and inhaled?

    1. Ha. I was told I was an angel…I stopped and breathed in the meaning of this huge compliment. What does it mean to be an angel? I must have good qualities that make me likeable enough to be honoured with such a title. Angel. How nice is that?
