Plan for now

We have made planning into an art.  We have schedules, lists, even detailed reports of where we aim to go.  What does all this planning do to the present moment?  We may feel rushed or even panicked before the tasks even present themselves.  In nature, birds don't panic because they have five nests to build in a week.  Deer don't live in fear knowing they have to cross a road tomorrow.  Flowers don't tremble if the rain is not forecasted to come.

If you have a busy day ahead, stop to breathe into your body.  What do you need in this moment to help you with the days ahead?  Perhaps a walk in nature to connect with a world free of planning or maybe dancing childlike to a favourite song.  What does your body tell you to do when it is stressed?

Be the moment.  Live for now.

  1. My body would like me to breathe. I have to admit I've been very stressed lately. Breathing seems almost an afterthought at times...

    1. The tightness, the spiral into a thick rope. We think we may be stuck here forever. Not knowing that if only a little slack is given, we will release once again. Thank you for sharing.

  2. We all need a 'breath-out' moment sometime... I feel like living dead at mo... work, eat, sleep, work eat, sleep... walk in nature would be nice... then again - only ONE more day to go!

  3. As I've probably written about before, I love walking in nature when I'm stressed. I find it to be such a great way to calm oneself and to decompress emotionally. I also think you make a great point about embracing the "now"...something we rarely do.

    1. I need more nature out here in the suburbs. I work in another suburb. Not much nature time. Thanks Keith.

    1. A morning run, amazing. What is the view like? Take me there in your words just like you have done above. Everyone has such great ideas, this is wonderful.
